lilplanters Backstory
lilplanters initially began as a simple project. I needed a few small pots for my plants one day, and not being a fan of unnecessary plastic, I decided to try making my own out of wood; since nearly all the plant pots I could find in stores were either plastic or ceramic. Those first planters, made from scrap 2x4s, were far from perfect, but they worked well, looked unique, and most importantly, were fully biodegradable. After some time, I decided to work on offering similarly-sized wooden planters to others under the name "lilplanters".
The brand brings together two long-standing interests of mine: plants and woodworking. My interest in plants started early, thanks to my dad’s passion for gardening, while my woodworking journey began back in my high school shop class. For years though, I lacked the time and tools to pursue either seriously, but now I finally have a chance to explore both things.
Through lilplanters, my goal is to offer environmentally friendly alternatives to standard plastic plant pots and, in time, I hope to expand our offerings into more plant and home-related items, so stay tuned if that’s something that sounds interesting to you. Thanks!
